Claims that Suffolk's new nuclear power station will cost £40 billion- have been denied by EDF.
Reports that the cost of the construction has doubled since 2020 were said to be 'not accurate' by the French operator.
Sources from within the industry, had been reported that a decision on confirming the funding had been pushed back until the spring.
Reports say that the French state auditor has said that EDF should hold off on the Sizewell decision until the risks at its other site - Hinkley C in Somerset - have been reduced.
