
Some of the most intense thunderstorms for years have caused a range of impacts in East Suffolk.
They have ben reports of lightning strike to buildings and trees in Lowestoft, Beccles and the Southwold area.
Some homes, businesses and roads were left flooded and strong winds damaged some trees.
Market Hall and Tescos in Saxmundham was flooded, as was the Morrisons store in Beccles.
Power cuts continued into Saturday mornign in a few areas, such as the Leiston, Beccles and Halesworth areas.
Overnight Friday into the early hours of Saturday saw frequent, lightning, very strong and gusty winds and some torrential downpours - Benhall near Saxmundham had 45mm of rain - almost a months worth in just a few hours.
The storms followed our hottest day of the year as temperatures soared to around 29 Celsius.
Forecasters say that the weather will be less lively over the coming days, as dry conditions return alog with some very warm sunshine.
