A popular footbridge that was closed almost two years ago is to be replaced later this year.
Suffolk County Council closed the White Bridge in Halesworth in August 2022 after engineers determined it was unsafe, controversially surrounding it with palisade fencing. More than four-dozen protestors picketed as a result.
The bridge connected millennium green with Holton Road.
Design work on a new bridge is underway with work set to begin in September.
