Pair Jailed for Lowestoft Drug Offences

Two men have been jailed for drug dealing offences in Lowestoft.

In May officers from the constabulary’s Scorpion team executed a warrant in Beccles Road, Lowestoft. Jack Howes, 25, of Willowbrook Close, Carlton Colville, was located and detained inside the address.

A mobile phone was found which when reviewed showed saved messages advertising the sale of suspected controlled substances. Another phone located in the address contained bulk text messages being sent from the device advertising the sale of drugs.

Howes was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of cocaine and taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre.

A safe was later found in the kitchen, in which a large quantity of white powder was located along with scales. A full house search was carried out with other drug paraphernalia found.

Phone analysis showed messages between Howes and Stephen Burrows discussing the sale of drugs and their drugs line.

In August Burrows, 31, of Beccles Road, Lowestoft was arrested. Upon arrest his phone again showed multiple drug marketing messages. Burrows was arrested and taken to Great Yarmouth custody.

The pair were subsequently charged and were sentenced on Monday 7th July, at Ipswich Crown Court.

Burrows admitted being concerned in the supply of cocaine and cannabis and possession with intent to supply cocaine and was jailed for 32 months.

Howes, admitted being concerned in the supply of cocaine and possession of cocaine with intent to supply, and was jailed for 28 months.
