Lifeboat volunteers were called to Corton after reports of a paddle boarder struggling in the water.
The call came in with Lowestoft Lifeboat preparing to launch to assist. However, the situation was quickly resolved and the launch was able to be stood down.
The paddle boarder managed to return to the beach safely without requiring any help from rescuers.
Although no direct assistance was needed, the incident highlights how quickly water users can run into difficulty, particularly when offshore winds or waves make it hard to get back onto a board.
This incident happened at lunchtime on Sunday. Lifeboat teams advise anyone heading out on the water to wear a buoyancy aid, carry a mobile phone or waterproof means of calling for help, and to alert the coastguard immediately if they find themselves or someone else in difficulty.
The Corton lifeboat crew, like lifeboat volunteers across the region, remain on standby 24 hours a day for emergencies at sea and along the coast.
