Local elections in east Suffolk will not be going ahead this Thursday - like in many other parts of the country.
This is because of the devolution plans for our local government - and those County or District councillors currently in place could now resign at any time and before a new unitary authority for Suffolk is in place.
Local elections in east Suffolk will not be going ahead this Thursday - because of plans to devolve our local government into a unitary authority.
The postponed elections means many Councillors who were set to stand down will now continue for at last another year.
