A man arrested following an incident in Lowestoft has been detained under the Mental Health Act. Police attended a property in Pakefield Street in Lowestoft at around 1.45pm on Thursday 9th April, following a report of a man threatening to harm himself. The 43-year-old man was arrested Good Friday evening, on suspicion of possession of a firearm with an intent to cause fear of violence. During the incident it is alleged a firearm was directed at a response officer, with other weapons also recovered from the address, which will be subject to specialist examination. No-one was hurt in the incident and there was no wider threat to the public.
