A man who was arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a woman in Lowestoft has been bailed.
Police were called by the Ambulance Service at just after 7.10am on Saturday (1st March), reporting the sudden death of a woman at a flat in London Road South.
The deceased was aged in her 40s and the death is currently unexplained.
Preliminary results from a Home Office post-mortem examination that took place on Sunday (2nd March), were inconclusive, pending further investigation.
Yesterday afternoon at 1.15pm, officers arrested a 49-year-old man from Lowestoft on suspicion of murder. He was taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre, and this evening, Sunday, he has been bailed, to return to police on 30th May.
Detectives are treating this as an isolated incident and the deceased and suspect were known to each other.
