A festive sea swim in Lowestoft went ahead despite rough conditions forcing several similar events across the region to be cancelled.
Organisers in Lowestoft said they worked closely with coastguards, lifeguards and St John Ambulance to ensure the event could be held safely. The swim took place while a number of Boxing Day dips elsewhere were called off because of safety concerns linked to sea conditions.
The Southwold, Aldeburgh and Felixstowe sea swims were also called off. However, in Aldeburgh - the Boxing Day swim has been rescheduled for New Year's Eve.
In Lowestoft, careful planning and coordination with emergency services allowed the event to go ahead, with safety measures in place throughout. Organisers stressed that decisions were made based on local conditions at the time, and that safety remained the top priority.
Festive sea swims are a popular tradition along the East Coast, often raising money for charity and attracting large crowds. However, organisers say changing weather and sea conditions can mean last-minute decisions are needed to protect participants.
Those involved in the Lowestoft swim thanked emergency services and volunteers for their support in helping the event run safely.
