An East Suffolk community cafe and pantry that serves hundreds of residents is appealing to the public following a power cut that forced them to throw away hundreds of pounds worth of frozen food.
Project40Seven in Leiston lost power in the early hours of Monday; when it was restored Monday night it was discovered that the freezer wouldn’t turn back on. The charity is now trying to secure a new one, either though a donation of a freezer itself, or by trying to raise funds from the public. The estimated cost of a commercial freezer is more than £3000.
Project40Seven is also appealing for donations of food to replace what had to be thrown away.
