Meet Stephen: Sundays On The 80s Show
Every Sunday from 6pm, Stephen presents The 80s Show on East Suffolk One.
Stephen has lived in Lowestoft and East Suffolk his whole life, and he's proud of it — proud enough that it follows him on holiday. Wherever he ends up, he makes sure people know exactly where he's from.
"Even when I'm abroad I'll make sure people know where I'm from."
The Song He Won't Leave Mid-Play
For Stephen it's Tears For Fears' Badman's Song, from the Seeds Of Love album. If it comes on while he's driving, he's staying in the car until it's finished — no exceptions.
There is, however, one condition. The windows stay up.
"My singing is an offence to society and banned in several countries."
Why Local Matters
For Stephen, the best part of broadcasting to East Suffolk is keeping it local — whether that's letting people know what's going on now, or reminiscing about the past. And as he'll tell you, he can go back quite far.
The Company He Keeps
On Stephen's desk, watching over every show, sits Morph — the claymation legend. Stephen calls him his inspiration and muse, and reckons it's probably why he talks the way he does.
If You Only Heard One Thing...
Tune in for five minutes or the full two hours, Stephen reckons you'll walk away with one of three things:
Get In The Mood
Fancy hearing the song Stephen won't leave the car for? Give Badman's Song a spin before you tune in Sunday at 6pm — it'll get you in the mood for the show.
Catch Stephen and The 80s Show every Sunday from 6pm — only on East Suffolk One.
