A Halesworth charity has received a £7,000 funding boost to help continue its work supporting people affected by life-changing illnesses.

Pear Tree Fund has been awarded the grant by the Suffolk Community Foundation through the Edward & Ivy Rose Hood Grantmaking Programme. The charity says the funding will make a significant difference to the support it can offer to local people and their families.

The grant will be used to help Pear Tree Fund continue delivering its services, which are focused on improving quality of life for individuals impacted by serious illness. The charity works with people across the county, offering practical and emotional support at times when it is most needed.

Representatives from Pear Tree Fund said they are extremely grateful for the funding and for the continued partnership with the Suffolk Community Foundation. They say the grant will help ensure vital services remain available to those who rely on them.

The Suffolk Community Foundation supports a wide range of charities and community groups across the county, helping local organisations access funding to meet specific needs within their communities. The Edward & Ivy Rose Hood Grantmaking Programme is designed to support initiatives that make a meaningful difference to people’s lives.

Pear Tree Fund says the support will allow it to continue improving outcomes for people living with long-term and life-changing health conditions, ensuring individuals feel supported rather than isolated during difficult times.

The charity has thanked everyone involved in awarding the funding, saying it will help them make a profound impact on the lives of those they work with.
