Police have confirmed an arrest was made during community patrols in Lowestoft town centre.
Officers from the local Community Policing Team were carrying out reassurance foot patrols on Friday evening when they encountered a group of young people. During the incident, one individual was detained and arrested after officers identified that he was wanted in connection with an allegation of criminal damage.
The suspect was taken into police custody, where enquiries are continuing. Suffolk Police have confirmed that investigations remain ongoing and that no further details can be released at this stage.
As part of the arrest, officers recovered a bicycle. Police say checks are now being carried out to establish its ownership, as there are concerns it may have been stolen.
Community patrols are regularly carried out in Lowestoft town centre as part of ongoing efforts to provide reassurance, deter anti-social behaviour and respond quickly to reports of crime. Police say these patrols are aimed at maintaining a visible presence and addressing issues raised by local residents and businesses.
