The date for when Lowestoft’s Gull Wing bridge will open has been confirmed as Saturday 7th Sepetmber.
The historic occasion will include a community walkabout on the bridge at 9am, before it is opened to road traffic midday. It is hoped the bridge will herald a new era of connectivity and regeneration for the town.
The third crossing over Lake Lothing has been built on behalf of Suffolk County Council by leading civil engineering contractor Farrans, represents a significant step forward for Lowestoft and promises to bring both immediate and long-term benefits to the town, its businesses and residents.

Once open - it is hoped that Gull Wing will address longstanding issues with traffic congestion - and also act as a catalyst for economic growth, attracting new investment and positioning Lowestoft as a dynamic and forward-looking commercial centre and community.
