Communities across East Suffolk are marking the 80th anniversary of Victory over Japan (VJ) Day with commemorations today and over weekend.
In Lowestoft, a special ceremony will be held at Sparrow’s Nest Gardens. Beccles will host a wreath-laying at Exchange Square and evening service at St Micheal's Church, whilst in Southwold, a service of remembrance will take place at Gun Hill.
Meanwhile on Sunday, Wrentham will hold a special service at the village hall, while Leiston will mark the anniversary at the town’s Long Shop Museum. In Bungay a service and parade is taking place at the Emmanual Church.
VJ Day commemorates the end of the Second World War in the Pacific and the final conclusion of the conflict.
