A serious collision has closed a busy stretch of the A146 between Beccles and Lowestoft, causing major disruption for local drivers.
The road is shut in both directions between the A145 Copland Way at North Cove near the Three Horse Shoes and the A146/A1145/Beccles Road junction at Carlton Colville.
Motorists travelling between Beccles and Lowestoft are being urged to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible.
Emergency services are on scene, and police have put diversions in place while they deal with the incident. Long delays are being reported on nearby alternative roads.
The closure is affecting traffic through Carlton Colville and Oulton Broad** as well as villages such as Mutford and Henstead, with knock-on delays expected across the local road network.
