A man has been arrested following a stop and search in Lowestoft town centre.
Police stopped the individual on London Road North on Tuesday night. He was arrested on suspicion of possessing a Class A drug.
Officers say he was also detained on suspicion of assaulting a police officer during the incident. He remains in custody while enquiries continue.
The activity took place in a busy part of the town centre and forms part of ongoing policing operations in the area.
Inspector Richard Bemment said his team is maintaining a zero-tolerance approach to crime in the town centre and will continue proactive patrols and stop searches where appropriate.
Police have not released further details at this stage.
