Halesworth & District U3A Group
Runs until Friday, 28 June 2024 (See all dates)
- Time
- 11:00 - 12:00
What we are:
Halesworth & District u3a is a membership organisation open to all who are not in full-time employment. There are no entry qualifications, no exams and no prizes; just the satisfaction of keeping mind and body active and connecting with local people who want to do the same. At heart our u3a is voluntary, self-help and enjoyable. Our u3a has members from most of the villages in the Blyth Valley. We started in 2003 and currently have around 400 members.
What We Do:
Our main activities are:
Monthly Meetings — these generally include an interesting and entertaining speaker (the Monthly Talk) and always with plenty of time to meet and chat to other u3a members. Venue The Cut Cafe, Halesworth.
Interest Groups — there are over 30 groups to join, some small, some large, and covering a range of interests.
Special Events — these include one-off events and outings.
Monthly Coffee Hour - on the last Friday of the month, 11am - 12noon in The Cut Cafe, Halesworth (excluding August & December). An opportunity to meet some committee members and learn more about our u3a. New members, longstanding members and anyone considering joining the u3a will all be very welcome. See Members' Coffee Hour. Do come.
So, if you want to keep your mind sharp, get out and about and learn new things, take up new interests and meet new people come join us!
New members are always welcome - ON THE WEBSITE USING THE LINK BELOW You can find out more about our u3a by using the Buttons at the top of the page. Go to the Groups button first, then each interest group has its own page, where you can send a message to the coordinator.
The membership fee is £15 per year reduced to £11.50 if you are a current member of another u3a.
