A12 Emergency Coastal Defence Work

Millions of pounds of emergency sea defence work is underway to help protect the A12 near Kessingland from being flooded.

It is hoped that the work at Benacre Sluice will stop the sea which is coming close to toppling the defences.

Without the work, it could mean homes and farmland could flood - as well as the main road between Lowestoft and Ipswich.

The work by the Environment Agency is expected to continue until the autumn.
