Warning of ‘Scam Police’ Callers in Suffolk

Residents in Lowestoft are being urged to be vigilant of fraudsters, who claim to be police officers.

Victims of the scam have received a telephone call from the ‘fake police’ - which involves a situation being explained and then a request for bank details. 

On one occasion, an elerdly victim paid thousands of pounds to the fraudsters.

Suffolk Police are asking people with vulnerable relatives, friends or neighbours to make sure they are aware of this type of scam.
