Suffolk County Council says it’s unable to support EDF Energy’s current plans to build Sizewell C nuclear power station on the county’s coast.

The Council says that it has ‘significant concerns’ over transport, design and the environmental impacts of a new development.

Their report focuses on additional pylons at the site – but also the ecological damage and suitable plans to protect local wildlife species.

Further discussions on the Sizewell C proposals are to take place later this month, where the Council says transport impacts, site design and the environmental impact on the Suffolk coast remain unanswered by EDF Energy.
