Lockdown Support Group Success in Lowestoft

A social media group has been founded in Suffolk to provide support and help for women, while the government’s COVID-19 restrictions continue.

Jo Harmer of Lowestoft had the idea to set up Ladies in Lockdown on Facebook - which now has almost 10,000 members after starting less than two months ago.

The aim of the group is to provide positive and fun discussions during what are challenging times - and topics include coping strategies, exercise tips and mind health.

Jo told East Suffolk One that the group now has a team of five to coordinate the administration and has members in many European countries and around the world, such as Australia.

Thanks to its success, the group will continue to run and provide support for women - even when lockdown restrictions begin to gradually ease
