Residents here in east Suffolk are being invited to have their say on a new dog control order, that requires dogs to be kept on leads in certain places. A new Public Space Protection Order is proposed, requiring dog owners to keep their pets on leads in specified areas – with the proposal replacing an existing order which expired in April. Under the new order, dogs should be kept on a lead at any time of day or night, in the areas that include pedestrianised areas such as The Britten Centre, London Road North and High Street in, Lowestoft – as well as Exchange Square in Beccles and The Thoroughfare in Halesworth.
A full list of locations included as part of the new proposal – and details of how to comment, can be found online atwww.eastsuffolk.gov.uk The consultation will remain open and invite people to give their views on these proposals until Thursday 21 May 2020.
