Climate Change Drive as Council Buys Electric Cars

East Suffolk Council has introduced new electric vehicles to its fleet, which it says is part of its on-going commitment to tackle climate change.

A total of six new electric vehicles are being introduced and will be run by partners, East Suffolk Norse.

The Council says that the environment is a key principle of their Strategic Plan and earlier this year, they launched its first Housing Enabling Strategy which will play a key role in achieving the Council's green commitments.

Additionally, forty new ‘wild areas’ were created across the district to benefit insects with town and parish council also being encouraged to identify land which could be suitable for tree planting.
